Fixing a leak yourself

1. Inflate the pad and listen, or wipe soapy water over it and look for bubbles.
2. Mark the spot, let it dry and clean it with an alcohol prep pad.
3. On the trail, press on a glue dot and cover patch from the Instant Field Repair Kit.
4. At home, use the Permanent Repair Kit and let it cure for four hours.

Valve trouble

Most "leaks" at the valve are a little grit in the seal. Open the valve, blow through it, close it firmly and test again before you patch anything.
